Field Study #6

Image
9/29/22 2:50 PM Sunny and Windy  56 Degrees Fahrenheit  Sunrise - 7:54 AM Sunset - 5:12 PM All of the snow that was on the ground since last time has melted. The tall brush weeds have been pretty much pushed down to the ground. The creek had water in it. It wasn't flowing fast, but it was moving along. There are lots of leaves still on the ground, and no leaves on the trees. I couldn't find any tracks, but a few days ago I saw 3 doe deer. A picture is attached. Also almost every night, there are multiple coyotes in the back field that are barking and howling, chasing rabbits in the woods. You can hear the rabbits screech sometimes when they get caught. The grass is more of a sad looking darker green, this happens when it gets colder out. You can tell there has been water running in the creek for a while, because the grasses in the creek are pushed down in the way the water flows.

11/15/22 7:45 AM Snow  31  Degrees Fahrenheit  Sunrise - 7:36 AM Sunset - 5:21 PM There was some old snow left on the ground, and some new snow, when I went out this morning. There is basically no leaves left in the trees. The tall grasses are pushed down a bit, and not standing straight up, probably somewhat to do with the snow compressing them, and the cold weather making some of them die and stop growing. It has gotten very cold and there isn't much wildlife activity that I have seen. The creek is flowing water like last time, probably because the little snowfall we had a few days ago is melting. I didn't see any tracks in the snow, which is surprising, because we normally have a bit of wildlife in this area.

10/30/22 4:15 PM Mostly Sunny  60 Degrees Fahrenheit  Sunrise - 8:16 AM Sunset - 6:40 PM The trees either had all of their leaves dropped and gone, or had some with color but partial. Last time I came the big tree in the middle had most of its leaves on it, and when I went this time, there was no leaves on it. This surprised me, because I came 2 weeks ago and all the trees were just starting to change color, and this time they had little to none. The creek had flowing water in it this time when I can which is unlike any of my previous trips. The weeds were down in the creek from the water running on them. the grass is barely growing now, but the weather has been really nice lately. Everything is starting to die, the plants and flowers are going bad. I haven't seen any animals in a while either.

10/14/22 4:32 PM Cloudy  52 Degrees Fahrenheit  Sunrise - 7:57 AM Sunset - 7:04 PM There was a few trees changing color. The outside of the tree's leaves were more colorful than the ones inside it more. I saw deer when I first went there, but scared them away and didn't get a great picture but one is attached, doesn't have great visual though. I saw a black squirrel in a tree. I did my sound map and sketch this time. It was very quite, with some wind gusts actionably. It just rained a lot this past weekend, so the creek had a little water in it still. The plants aren't growing very fast because of the cold. Everything is slowing down.  There is a  Black Squirrel in the tree.  you can barely see the White Tailed Deer in-between the trees.
